RCMS prides itself in its rich and dynamic culture. This is reflected in the manner with which it regularly celebrates or hosts special events. We just do it with robustness, remarkable aplomb and self-assurance! Events like SCM, Valentine's Day, Awards Ceremony, Arbor Day, Youth Day, Nelson Mandela Day, Casual Day, Heritage Day,...

SCM
School Church Meetings(SCM) are held on the last Friday of every month. This is the day to uphold the school's Christian values and express our thanks to the Good Lord for ensuring our welfare. Learners sing, dance and even preach(when need arises).

St Valentine's Day
Its an annual event held on the 14th of February. A beauty pageant is organised. Girls and boys from any Grade can enter the contest. Mr and Ms Rusplaas would be crowned at the end of the day. Learners can volunteer to sing, dance or offer any other form of entertainment.

Awards Ceremony
This is a biannual event held almost always during the first term and the last term. Hard work and conduct is honoured by awarding merit certificates to deserving learners. From Grade 1 up to 9, the top three in each class, neatness and good behaviour are merited. From Grade 10 upwards the certificates are conferred per subject.

Arbor Day
An Arbor day is randomly selected any day during the Arbor week. Learners gather in the school hall and are instructed about the significance of trees and conservation. Eventually they plant trees in the school yard and tend those already existing.

Youth Day
On the 16th of June every year teachers wear their old school uniforms. We all commemorate school kids who lost their lives fighting for their rights to be taught without repressive laws enforced by the former racist regime.

Nelson Mandela Day
We assemble in the school hall on the 18th of July and remember Madiba, the icon. Learners give us their renditions of praise poems, songs and also dramas. Most importantly we try to expend 67 minutes of our time on showing care to the needy, in appreciation of and/or tribute to our former statesman Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

Casual Day
The 4th of September is our casual day. We pay R2 to wear casual t-shirts and caps purchased from our school premises. We buy stickers, and donate old clothes, food or sanitary items to the charity organisation, named Judy's Paradise.

Heritage Day
Learners and teachers are encouraged to don traditional attire on the 24th of September. And encouraged to take pride in our diverse culture, and also to embrace the rainbow nation phenomenon.
Learners are instructed to learn their culture and some of the old and modern methods of cultural activities.
Both educators and learners from all Grades play different games. Learners also practise indigenous games and dances.
Our learners also contribute money and valuable items to the disabled children around our vicinity.

That's pretty much the rolling programme of culture at RCMS. Almost always done with RobUStness, aPLomb And ASsurance. The RUSPLAAS way!!!
